Challenge
In response to growing disinformation following the 2014 Ukrainian revolution and Russia’s annexation of Crimea, the EEAS launched EUvsDisinfo — an initiative to collect, analyse, and expose Russian disinformation across Europe. The EEAS required a multilingual platform and a custom content management system to support collaboration across its international network of analysts, contributors, and editors.
Solution
Veedoo designed and developed a custom “Disinformation Management System” (DMS) to serve as a secure, AI-enhanced editing and publishing platform, alongside a fully responsive public-facing website. The system enables real-time editorial collaboration and content workflows, supports 13 languages, and aligns with GDPR and EU usability standards. The platform also hosts a library of educational resources, allowing the site to function both as a research hub and a public awareness tool.
Impact
The EUvsDisinfo platform has published over 19,000 verified disinformation cases and reaches millions of users annually. It has become a central source for understanding Russian disinformation tactics, while providing a secure, scalable, and multilingual infrastructure for the EEAS and its partners.
