Challenge
The European External Action Service (EEAS) sought to highlight the human stories behind Yemen’s long and often overlooked conflict. Despite years of hardship, Yemen and its people have rarely had the opportunity to share their own experiences with the world. The Talk About Yemen campaign aimed to change this by giving Yemenis a space to speak for themselves about their struggles, resilience, and creativity. To support this initiative, the EEAS needed a dedicated campaign website that could bring these stories to life through vivid imagery, personal testimony, and accessible design.
Solution
Building on the EEAS’s existing concept and visual designs, Veedoo developed a fast, modern, and visually rich website using React for the frontend and Prismic CMS for flexible content management. The platform was designed to be easy to update, allowing campaign editors to publish new stories and artwork from Yemen in real time. Through bold colours, local art, and authentic photography, the site created an immersive storytelling experience that centred Yemeni voices while maintaining compliance with EEAS hosting and security requirements.
Impact
The Talk About Yemen platform offered a unique digital space for dialogue and empathy, amplifying voices too often unheard in global discourse. Fully hosted and supported by Veedoo, the site provided the EEAS communications team with a reliable, easy-to-maintain tool throughout the campaign period. The result was a vibrant and responsive platform that helped shift international attention from statistics and crises toward the people and culture of Yemen.
